MLB star Ryne Sandberg recently revealed that his prostate cancer has returned and spread.
The NL home run leader took to his Instagram on December 10, 2024, Tuesday to announce the news, nearly one year after his diagnosis with cancer.
Furthermore, Ryne Sandberg wrote, “Unfortunately, we recently learned cancer has relapsed, and it has spread to other organs, This means that I’m back to more intensive treatment, we will continue to be positive, strong and fight to beat this.“
In response to the news, many of his fans and followers have sent their prayers to Ryne Sandberg, his wife Margaret, and their families.
Similarly, the Instagram post includes pictures of Ryne Sandberg with his wife Margaret Koehnemann and a picture of the MLB star when he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
Initially, Ryne Sandberg announced his cancer diagnosis in January through an Instagram post.
Ryne Sandberg further stated that he started the treatment and is surrounded by his loving family, who has been very supportive in his cancer battle.
In August, Sandberg posted a picture of himself ringing the ceremonial bell to mark the end of his cancer treatment.

Ryne Sandberg has two children, a son named Justin and a daughter named Lindsey, with his first wife, Cindy Sandberg.

Ryne’s retirement was to spend more time with his children, and despite the divorce, Ryne Sandberg and his wife mutually took care of their daughter and son.
Although very little information about Justin and Lindsey’s profession is available, their social media reveals that they are happily married.
