It’s been just four months since Seattle native EJ Caminong began his collegiate football career, committing to the California Golden Bears, and he has already established himself as the most potent quarterback for the team.
ESPN has rated Caminong as a three-star recruit and ranked him the 25th-best quarterback to play pocket passer. Likewise, the 19-year-old has also placed 7th among Washington’s top players overall.
Such a record EJ Caminong has succeeded in accomplishing in a short period undoubtedly has made his parents proud. But, it’s his father, Edrie Caminong, who has come forward to express his pride for his son.
On June 25, 2024, Edrie shared some of the glimpses of his memories with his son on his Instagram and wrote,
The post comes two months before EJ actually enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley. Ej’s father, at the time, was really proud of him for his new journey.
In this regard, Edrie Caminong further stated, “I have no doubt you will thrive and continue to grow in many ways. I am beyond proud!!! Continue to be great, keep your faith, & stay the course. 🤞🏽🔒🫶🏽 love you son!!!”
Well, EJ Caminong is standing strong over his father’s faith and doing pretty well as a football player.
EJ Caminong apparently grew up in a mixed family of four!
As far as our research suggests, the emerging football quarterback EJ Caminong was born to his parents, Edrie Caminong, and his partner, Alisha Williams, in 2005.
His father, Edrie, works in the medical field and maintains his presence on social media. Looking at him, fans speculated that EJ’s father, Edrie, is Asian and has an ancestry in the Philippines.
Further, EJ’s mother, Alisha, has mentioned herself as ‘Hebrews’ in her Instagram bio. Considering all this, it’s no wonder that EJ Caminong comes from a family with mixed ethnical backgrounds.
He also has a younger brother named Devin Caminong, who had the same upbringing as him. So, like EJ, Devin is also into athletics and plays high school football.
Besides his parents and siblings, he has extended family, who supported him at their best after he moved to California to play for the Bears. While talking about his support system after arriving at the campus area, he said,
EJ further stated that though he left his family back in his hometown, he had this in mind: he also has his relatives in a new city. Further, his team also welcomed him so dearly that everything felt like home for him in the new place, California.
