De’Andre James Hunter, a 27-year-old NBA player who plays the shooting guard position for the Atlanta Hawks, has reportedly become a father to a daughter with his girlfriend.
On November 10, 2024, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution claimed that the girlfriend of De’Andre Hunter gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday morning, November 9.
According to the reports, the Hawks star skipped Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, citing personal family reasons. He had also missed the game against the New York Knicks, which was held on Wednesday, to take care of his partner.
Likewise, many social media users claimed De’Andre’s daughter’s birth and disseminated the news on Facebook and Twitter, writing posts that read, “DE’ANDRE HUNTER IS A DAD!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM BOTH ON THEIR BABY GIRL!!!! ” “Hunter welcomed a baby girl last week,” and many others.
Well, it’s been over a month since the news broke into the media. But De’Andre hasn’t confirmed it in any way, either via his social media handle or in media interactions.
It appears that De’Andre Hunter prefers to keep his love life away from media interference, which is why the identity of his girlfriend is still a mystery.
Throughout these years, the only time he flaunted his love of life on his Facebook was on February 16, 2020. He has shared his picture with a beautiful lady, writing, “1 ❤️” in the caption.
De’Andre Hunter wants to make his late father proud of him!
Over the years, De’Andre has shown his reluctance to share details about his romantic life, but having said that, it doesn’t mean his whole personal life is an enigma to the world.
He has shared about his birth family, upbringing, and journey to the NBA. As De’Andre said, he was just seven years old when his father, Aaron Hunter Sr., passed away. After that, his mother, Priscilla, took over complete responsibility for him and his brother.
While having an exclusive talk with The Athletic, De’Andre said his mother did everything for him. After his mom, his older brother, Aaron Jr., taught him many things, including basketball skills, just like his father would have done if he was alive.
Decades have passed since the senior Hunter left the living world, but both his sons, especially De’Andre, believe he is still spiritually present with them and want to make him proud of their success.
In 2019, after being selected in the NBA draft, De’Andre Hunter honored his late dad by publicly uttering his name. Meanwhile, taking his dad’s necklace, rubbing it gently, and smilingly, he said, “His name was Aaron. Dad, I hope I made you proud.”
