Dasun Shanaka, a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and former limited-overs captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team, has recently sparked accident rumors.
The rumors started circulating after some people speculated that Dasun Shanaka passed away in December 2024 after an accident.
Furthermore, many believe that Dasun Shanaka suffered a life-threatening accident back in October 2023, which took his life a year later.

Dasun Shanaka recently shared a picture of himself near a waterfall on December 22, 2024, with the caption “Blessed 🌎💙” silencing the rumors about the accident and demise.
He also shared a picture of him celebrating Christmas on his Instagram Stories.
Although he had no accident recently, in 2023, Dasun was sidelined from the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup match against Pakistan due to a right muscle injury.
However, it didn’t take him long to recover from his injury and return to his cricket journey.

Dasun Shanaka is one of the most talented cricketers in the Sri Lankan team.
Moreover, he has appeared in several Domestic, International, and T20 matches, winning several honorable titles, including ACC Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
In May 2016, Dasun scored a century against Leicestershire County Cricket Club in a first-class match on the tour of England.
Similarly, he became the vice-captain of Galle’s squad for the 2017-18 Super Four Provincial Tournament in March 2018.
