Cub Swanson and his siblings found a new home with their father’s cousin’s family!
Cub Swanson was born on November 2, 1983, in Palm Springs, California, to a Swedish father and a Mexcian mother.
Unfortunately, his father passed away from a battle with melanoma when Cub was three months old.
Similarly, because of his mother’s addiction to substances, Cub Swanson and his siblings, including two elder brothers, Steve and Aaron, and two sisters, joined the new family.
Cub and his siblings were adopted and raised by their late father’s cousin.
The adoptive family was religious, so Cub Swanson spent most of his early life in the church.
However, when Swanson was 14, his adoptive parents divorced, and he returned to his mother, who at the time had recovered from the addiction.
Cub Swanson further attended Cathedral City High School while living with his mother.
Likewise, Cub struggled a lot during his teenage; he associated himself with local gangs and participated in many street fights.
He also drank alcohol, took recreational substances, and stayed behind bars for robbery.
Despite several struggles and a dark past, wrestling helped Cub Swanson overcome his addiction, and he began pursuing his career in MMA.
