Yuki Kawamura grew up idolizing Yuki Togashi, a professional Japanese basketball player, and despite being a relatively short player standing at the height of 5 feet 8 inches, he began playing basketball at a very young age.

Moreover, Kawamura started his career under special designated player status with the San-en NeoPhoenix in January 2020.

While playing for the NeoPhoexnix, he also played for Fukuoka Daiichi High School and led them to win the All-Japanese High School championships.

He also became Japan’s youngest Professional men’s basketball league player at 18.

Similarly, with his powerful impact on the basketball field at such a young age, he soon joined Yokohama B-Corsairs in 2020.

Enrolling at Tokai University, he left his school to go pro at the beginning of the 2022-20 season. After four years of playing with Yokohama, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA in 2024.
