Julian Sensley’s parents, Joseph and Susanne Karsten, apparently separated very earlier and settled down with different people!

Julian Sensley's son, Zion Sensley, is committed to play basketball for Santa Barbara.

Former basketball player Julian Sensley, who has lately been in the headlines after it was disclosed that he had a fling with the TV personality Brittany Cartwright amidst her divorce, grew up in a broken household.

Julian Sensley was still very young when his parents, Joseph and Susanne, separated. After their separation, his father settled down with his new family in New Orleans, while his mom moved on with her new love in Hawaii and soon welcomed a baby boy, Max.

The two half-brothers grew up together and developed an inseparable bond. But when Max turned 7, Julian flew to Connecticut to attend St. Thomas More School, and they remained apart for 8 years.

But while playing a basketball game with Electricians Hawaii, Julian and Max reunited, and their mother, Susanne, was utterly astonished to see her two sons playing basketball together.

In this regard, she once said,

That was Max’s dream, but I never thought they would be (playing together) being eight years apart

Well, since Julian grew up mostly with his mother and his half-brother, he was closer to them than his dad, Joseph. So, he never revealed much about his father; that’s why information on him is hardly available.

Susanne Karsten, the mother of Julian Sensley, is a German native

The mother of Julian Sensley, Susanne Karsten, is originally from Rostock, Germany. She was born there and grew up in Hamburg before finally immigrating to the United States in 1975.

So, Susanne is a German citizen by birth, but later, she married an American man, Julian’s father, so, with that right, she received American citizenship as well.

Thanks to his mom, the German government also found Julian eligible for German citizenship and granted him when he reached adulthood, though he was born in New Orleans. Talking to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, the former Hawai’i athlete expressed his happiness and said,

They were jumping through hoops for me to get it, and now I’m a German citizen, which is cool, so I’ll be able to play with them.

On the German Basketball Federation’s website, he even mentioned that, although he lived in the United States, he considers Germany a significant part of him.
